Below is a small sample of the steps we take to remanufacture/overhaul our movements.  As you can see  we simply just don't throw in a couple of bushings at the trouble spots and call it a day. We take all the time consuming necessary steps needed to have your movements run trouble free for many  years down the road.

1. Notice the new centershaft bushing. Time consuming to remove the pressed on star wheel but a step that is not overlooked for centershafts that show excessive wobble in the pivot hole.

2. All pivots that are to receive a new bushing are polished on a high speed carbide pivot polisher to a mirror finish. Each pivot is then checked to make sure it is parallel and straight

3. Click wheels and clicks checked on the Greatwheels. If click wheel show excessive wear and can not be refaced the movement is NOT used and becomes a source for parts.

4. The movement is then assembled and run without any lubricant for one week, At this time final adjustments are made and functions checked for accuracy and dependability. Finally, pivot points are then oiled with a quality German synthetic oil.

Obviously the steps listed above only highlight a few of the many steps taken in overhauling a movement. We recommend that a qualified clock technician install the movement into the clock case as it must be "set in beat" and adjustments made to the striking hammers for the proper sound quality. As with all movements new or old preventive maintenance should be completed every two to three years. This includes oiling all related pivots on the FRONT and BACK plates with a quality clock oil.
